わが社の機内食がガッカリさせる……ですって？
私どもは、すっかり食べてくださる方が好きです。
ですから、低力ロリー食をとっていらっしゃるのでしたら、私どもを
期待なさらないでください。
たとえばです。私どもがお出しする小エビは、他のどんなレストランの
小エビよりも、すこしばかり高くつきます。打ちあけた話し、私たちが
高い小エビを使っているからなんです。
(私たちのワサビも、瓶から取り出したばかりのものより、もっと利いて
いますよ。私たちのホット･ロール、どこのお店にもまだ売っていない新
しいものです。)
また、私たちがお出しするコーヒーが普通より濃くても、偶然ではありま
せん。アメリカン航空のコーヒーは、店では買えないのです。
私たちは味見をしてくれる人を使うこともありますよ。内緒にしてくださ
いね……ニューヨークでも有名なレストラン４店の経営者の方に、私たち
のディナーの味見をしてもらったこともありました。
かけらも残さずに平らげてしまいましたね、みんな。

ＤＤＢのアート部の大御所ボブ･ゲイジ氏がマンガ家サクソン氏と組み１９６５年から担当、当時、大話題となったシリーズです。
Some people find our meels discouraging.
We like the man who cleans his plate.
So if you're counting calories, we're afraid you can't count on us.
For one thing, our shrimp cost a little more than the shrimp in most
restaurants. No kidding. We have expensive shrimps.
（And our horseradish is stronger than the kind that come-out of a
jar,）
Our hot rolls happen to be a new kind that aren't even on the national
market yet.
And if the coffee we serve seems richer than usual it isn't an accident.
You can't buy American Airlineds' coffee in stores.
We even use outside tasters. In fact we're had the owners of four of New
York's must famous restaurants in for dinner to see how they like it.
They didn't leave a thing.
A magnate, Mr. Bob Gage, of the art part of DDB cooperates with a cartoonist, Mr. Saxon, and he takes charge from 1965. Those days, it is the series which became the large center of attention.
