Great art director Mr.George Lois
DDBを飛び出していった、アートディレクターのジョージ・ロイス氏の仕事を少し紹介することで、クリエイターと環境について触れてみたい。
ジョージ・ロイスは、ぼくが敬愛する米国のアートディレクターの5人の中の一人である。
まず、DDB時代の仕事の一つ---VWステーション・ワゴン。
な、何です?

フォルクスワーゲン・バンですよ。
貧しいものを哀れまないでください。それは分かることができます。
あなたが買うのをためらっていた、1トン近くのもあるものでも運ぶことができるんです。
現実的な例をあげると、8人の大人(そのうえ、スーツケース)を載せられます。
実用的なメリットもあります。
1ガロンのレギュラー・ガソリンので24マイル走ります。
空冷式なので水も不凍液もまったく不要です。
さらに、普通のワゴンのおよそ2倍は搭載できますが、車長が4フィート短いので駐車がラクです。
そうそう、パッケージの中味でしたね?

And even though it carries almost twice s much as regular wagons, it tskes 4 feet less to psrk.
