Interview with Mr. Jack Dillon (4)

(Vice-President, Copy Supervisor, Doyle Dane Bernbach Inc.)

chuukyuu Do you think you could have done your favorite two ads, if you had not worked at Doyle Dane Bernback, Inc. ?
Mr. Dillon I think we could have done the first class ads for American at any agency. They weren't what you'd call a daring departure. If anything, this was the kind of advertising that was done 30 or 40 years ago, before advertising got so hopped up.
I don't really think the Cerebral Palsy commercial and campaign could have been in most other agencies. There a few that probably think pretty much the way we do because they have a lot of our people working for them. PKL or Wells, Rich, Green, or Carl Ally or some of the people at Tinker.
If I were looking for a job at one of the older big agencies, I'd probably show then the first class campaign first. I'd be sure they'd understsnd it. I'm pretty sure they'd also like the Cerebral Palsy campaign as a creative effort, but they might also feel that it's negative and not in line with their policy.
