Wouldn't it be nice to bring the children along to Jamaica, to show them what a varied and lovely world we live in?
And wouldn't it be nice to get them out of your hair once you're here?
We understand, because we like parents. Not as much as we like children, of course. But enough. Enough to have miraculously preserved The Great Nanny Tradition, complete in its old-time mixture of love and firmness.
Now, don't think that Nannies must be old fuddy-duddies. They're not like that at all. Look at the picture above. Jamaican Nannies tend to be young and pretty ladies, and although many of them carry such practical titles as Practical Nurse, they are no less magical than fairy godmothers used to be.
Part of the magic is their wages. For a mere $3.50 a day, your hotel or travel agent can make a Nanny appear.
She'll take the kids to play. Show them bright crayon-colored birds and shells and flowers and fruit . And teach them Jamaican folk songs and tales that they'll keep to tell their children .
By the week, you pay even less: as little as $12 with board . This is an especially suitable arrangement if you've rented a cottage and want a live-in Nanny.
