オーバックス新聞広告シリーズ（１９）
神経質になるほどのことはないかもしれません。でも、大金を
はらっているのはクライアントですから、敬意を示すために、
いくらかの注意と努力は注いでも損にはならないとおもいます。
製品名なりブランド名を行変えのときにぶっ切らないように字
送りに手加減をくわえるかどうかって問題です。ぼくは、ぶっ
切れないように配慮するほうのコピーライターでした。
そうそう、ＤＤＢはこのブログのクライアントでありませんが、
ここまで、オーバックスが切れないようにしてきたつもりです。
ワシにゃあ娘はおらんが、世の娘さんたちのためにもオーバックスの大学生売場は必要じゃ。 （1964年）
娘さんたちよく買い物するんじゃよな？ ひょっとしたらどんなに高いものでも
買えるほどお金を持ってるのかもしれん。高いモンを買って後悔することもある
じゃろうが、オーバックスならそんなことはないぞう。最新のモンをどんどん仕
入れているからの。つまらん授業や退屈な日常を抜け出したいならオーバックス
へ行ってみい。長めのスカート、チェック柄のスパッツ、つやつやのハイブーツ、
モンキー･ジャケット、「ぷあ･ルック」セーター。どれも普通に生活してたんじ
ゃあ、まず出逢わんわな。異国で一度に沢山仕入れるンでコストも下がるんじゃ。
オーバックスに行けばどれだけ得するか分かったじゃろ（おつむがいいんだから。）
そうそう、オーバックスには息子さんたち向けの大学生ブロックもあるんじゃと。

No daughter of mine needs Ohrbach's College Shops
So she's shopping for college, is she? Well, maybe you can afford the
most expensive stores. But she can't afford to miss the fashions at
Ohrbach's. If there's anything new, we have it. If there's something
nutty for class, or dates, or doing nothing in the dorm, it's here.
Our splendid nonsense includes the trouser-skirt, checked gaiters,
tall polished boots, the make believe monkey-fur jacket, and the
"Poor Girl" sweater. Loads of it comes from abroad; much of it begs
to be put together with her own special touch; and all of it costs so
little, you may come to agree (sensible fellow that you are) that
Ohrbach's is for her after all. (And for your son. We've got a Univer-
sity Shop for Men that's great.)

確かに、ぼく君の言ってることは分かるよ。背が伸びたら新しい制服
欲しいもんね。ぼく君がいくらお利口さんでも、他のお友達がみんな
オーバックスの制服着てるのにぼく君だけ違うのは嫌だよね。安心し
てちょうだい、オーバックスにはブレザーからジーンズまでぼく君が
着たいサイズや色の服が全部あるから。ぼく君に妹がいたら、きっと
チェルシー風の高級感のあるストレッチ素材のニットでも着るんだろ
う。そんなにいいもの着てたら何をしててもお利口さんに見えそう。
実はその服の値段、大人でもびっくりするくらい安いんだけど、ね。

In one way, of course, he's normal. He grows. So he probably needs
a whole new outfit for school. If he's half as smart as he looks,
he'll do his dressing at Ohrbach's. We have everything new, in his
size and color, from the ascot blazer to denim jeans for dress. If
he's got a sister, she can have the Chelsea look, stretch knits,
and something great in plush. Whatever they get will be smart. It
will be splendidly made.And it will be so remarkably priced, the
gentleman may even consider that we're a rewarding experience, too.
