オーバックス新聞広告シリーズ（１５）
「ハイ･ファッションをロー･プライスで」と広告では宣言していても、
売り場での主役はちょっとおしゃれっぽい日常着でしょう。
「ハイ･ファッション」とタイプを打ちながらコピーライターは忸怩た
るおもいもすることもあるでしよう。「いちど、きわめつきのハイ･フ
ァッションをやってみない」ミズ･プロタスが若いアートディレクター
のバージェロン青年をけしかけたとおもいます。
提案された原稿にオーバックス側のクローザー広告部長もしばし
うなったでしょう。
「ザ･タイムスでは無理だが、タブロイド判『ニューヨーク･ニュース』
の読者層なら受け入れるかもしれない」やっと、Ｏ.Ｋ.がとれ、イェー
ルの大学院で英文学を修めたプロタス女史の屈託も解消。
