Please don't get killed this Sunday.
We'd like to sell you gas on Monday.

We all have to die sometime.
But we don't have to die in our cars.
And we certainly don't have to die in our cars th is weekend.
Unfoliunately, weekends are murder. And this coming weekend won't be any different.
The numbers alone are enough to kill you: We lose almost 400 people onthe average weekend.
And that's an average weekend, ladies and gentlemen, (On holiday week-ends, it's even worse,)
So the lesson is damnably clear: If more than 165 people get killed on Sundays and only (?) 90-odd get killed on Tuesdays, something can be done.
And the somebody who can do it is you.
A lot of cars that aren't fit to drive are on the road on weekends, Make sure that yours isn't one of them. (There's still time to get yours checked out between now and then.)
And a lot of people who aren't fit to drive are out on weekends, too. Make sure that you aren't one of them. (In one study, more than half the drivers who were killed had been drinking. And there are more fatal accidents after midnight Saturday than at any other time.)
There's nothing special about this coming weekend. But there's something very special about the hundreds of people who aren't going to make it.
What do you say? Give it a special try this weekend, Remember to use your head while you still have it.
We at Mobil are in the gasoline and oil business and we're sort of greedy.
We just love to see the roads full of cars, all coming back safely with those nice, big empty gas tanks.
Have a good weekend.

Mobil We want you to live.
