chuukyuu : What is the color you like best?
Tomi : Black, definitely.
chuukyuu : What flower you like best?
Tomi : I like trees better than flowers. Leaves and branches. I'm not so crazy about flowers. I like graphical things. I like trees because it's more graphic.
chuukyuu : What about animals?
Tomi : I don't like dogs. I don't like pets. I like cats maybe, but I don't want to have any animals around me. I cannot hurt animals but I don't like animals very much. I just ignore them. I like birds. You know why? My great hobby is mineralogy and geology. When you go and see my mother, she will show you my great big collection of stones. I wanted to be a geologist.
chuukyuu : What kind of dishes you like?
Tomi : I adore to eat. It's one of my great favorites. It's a main thing in life.
chuukyuu : Do you have a particular kind of drink?
Tomi : I indulge in everything. Good wine. But I drink just about everything. I adore to drink.
chuukyuu : What is your nationality?
Tomi : French citizen.
chuukyuu : I heard you love N.Y. very much. Why don't you change your nationality into the U.S.A. ?
Tomi : No.
chuukyuu : Do you love France?
Tomi : I don't have a love for my country.
chuukyuu : Do you believe in a religion?,
Tomi : No. I'm an atheist.
chuukyuu : What time of the day you like best?
Tomi : I have no time that's favorite. It varies according to moods, just like poetry.
chuukyuu : Do you have a particular place where you hit ideas?
Tomi : No, nowhere. It just comes like this all the time. That's trouble. There're too many things I want to do, too many ideas. I can never do all that I want to do. So I do whatever can be done.
chuukyuu : Do you work at home, too?
Tomi : I have a home and a beach-house in the country where I work. Now I've a studio in Canada. I work here most of the time (42nd Street atelier).
chuukyuu : Do you finish your work very quickly?
Tomi : Yes, I work very fast. I can finish a whole book (85 pages) in one day.
chuukyuu : You're like a money printing machine.
Tomi : Yes, like a money printing machine. That's the one thing that I've to be very careful. Not to be spoiled by money. Because money is very dangerous, it can kill you.
chuukyuu : What do you do on Sundays?
Tomi : For me there's no Sunday. I have no religion. Everyday I do is what I want to do
chuukyuu : Do you play sports?
Tomi: Yes, running. I used to run 20 miles. And kite.
chuukyuu : Do you have any habit?
Tomi: I have a lot of habits, good ones and bad ones. I can't remember.... Oh, well, I remember one thing. I like to astonish people.
chuukyuu : How tall are you?
Tomi : I don't know. I think 6 feet. It changes all the time.
