米国VW社が、VWビートルの革新をアナウンスしたことが2回あった。DDBのVWチームは語り口を変えなかった。最初が、これ。2度目はクーラー搭載。

かくも長き年月の後に、私たちの質素で小さなかぶと虫が、やっとオートマチック化しました。
クラッチよ、さようなら。
「キュートだけど、私には運転できないわ」という奥さま方の愚痴とも、さようなら。
フォルクスワーゲン朝時代も、さようなら。
ふん!
その代わり?
ギア・チェンジなしで街中走り回れるフォルクスワ-ゲン。
ただ、ハイウエーでは、ギア・チェンジ。
一度だけ (これだって、 今までどおりの目的=経済性のため)。
